Lindsay Erickson | Awakened Wellness Retreat

Lindsay is a jewel of a person. Her joy and happiness for life radiates! Lindsay and I met at the Shenandoah Valley bike festival (Shenandoah Valley Bike Coalition) a couple years ago. (Side note: The festival is a really fantastic opportunity if you love to bike + the outdoors! It’s happening this weekend October 11-13 at the Stokesville Campground in Mt. Solon, VA! Check out Shenandoah Valley Bike Coalition’s website to book a camping spot and ticket for the festival!

Lindsay owns a company called Awakened Wellness, where she leads people in the community to a place of inner peace and holistic healing through Energy balancing (also known as Reiki), training others in Reiki, Yoga, and Retreats where she guides others to the heart of true health through wholeness.

*If you would like to gain an understanding about what Lindsay offers, visit her website! This February she will be offering a Reiki Training Retreat in the gorgeous setting of Costa Rica! Sign up here!

A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to photograph Lindsay’s most recent retreat taking place at a sustainable farm in Mt Sidney called 1Tribefarm. I drove up the 1/2 mile long drive to the Summit House, admiring the rolling hills and grazing horses. As the sun popped over the mountain, I saw the ladies gathering in the great room to center themselves and come together through Yoga + meditation. I was grateful to meet all these wonderful ladies and join them for breakfast afterwards. (Holy smokes, the food was out of this world! Poached eggs, GF pumpkin spiced donuts, avocado mash topped with fresh chives!) I love the opportunity to witness the joining of new friendships. I was grateful to be a part of their retreat! Enjoy a few favorites of our time together!

(If you’d like to explore a place to stay or learn more about 1Tribe farm, you can do so here!)

Park View Federal Credit Union | 50th Anniversary Celebration

Being a local to the Shenandoah Valley, Park View Federal Credit Union was the bank I opened my first checking account when I was just 15 years old. When Elizabeth with Park View contacted me to photograph their 50th Anniversary party at The Valley Pike Market Granary, I was super grateful. I loved hearing the stories and laughter, reminiscing how the bank formed, the triumphs and growth, and now where the bank is today 50 years later! Amazing!

Enjoy a few favorites from the evening! Happy 50th Park View Federal Credit Union!

Chick-fil-a | Local headshots

It’s always a pleasure meeting new faces and hearing new stories. What drives us all to pursue the dreams and desires of our heart. Ashley was such a beautiful spirit and pours her soul into her team at Chick-fil-a. It’s such a warm and welcoming environment and I mean, their food is absolutely delicious. Each dish comes with a side of love too :) I loved meeting all the kind individuals who work for her! When I asked Ashley to share a little bit about her story and how it all began at Chick-fil-a she shared…

I worked at Chick-fil-A as a teenager and I until I graduated college

I was a special education teacher for 5 years

Wanted to own our own business where we could impact people’s lives

In 2000 I started the application process

And in 2001

they chose me to be an operator -

I had a mall location for 4 1/2 years in Richmond Va

In 2005 I applied to relocate to Harrisonburg and they picked me again-

So we moved to Harrisonburg in 2005

And opened the restaurant January 26,2006

That was 13 years ago.

Greg and i have worked together for the last almost 18 years

We have a leadership team that is super engaged and they work so hard and smart to make our restaurant run

While we are all human and not perfect we really try to serve our community to the best of our abilities so that our guest feel cared for

(In fact I just messed up today and forgot to tell the team about an order for someone 😞)

Once chick fil a gets in your blood - in your heart - it does something special !

A meme Ashley sent me that describes her story…

Enjoy a few favorites of our time together!
